Patellar Tendonitis, if lasting for more than a couple of weeks, is in the “chronic” phase. This means that rest will likely no longer help. This is because there has been some sort of “damage” (scar tissue, fibrous adhesions, disorganized fiber structure, painful nerve “ingrowth”, etc.) that rest will not change. You will need *active* treatment so that the tendon can begin to adapt back to normal!
